Last season Atlanta Hawks point guard Brandon Goodwin had to end his season prematurely due to a ‘minor respiratory condition’. Because of the health issue he missed the playoffs and was unable to help the team.
In a recent Twitch livestream the 26-year-old guard revealed that the cause of his health problem was a Covid-19 vaccine. According to him, it was discovered that blood clots developed in his body that caused back pain.
“I got sick, and I never quite recovered from it. I would always have back pain,” Goodwin said, per Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit. |I was just super tired in the games. I was so tired. I felt like I couldn’t run up and down the court. My back was hurting. My back really started hurting bad. Then, I’m like, ‘OK. I need to go to the doctor. That’s when I found out I had blood clots. That all within the span of a month.”
“I was fine until then. I was fine up until I took the vaccine, I was fine. People trying to tell you, ‘No. It’s not the vaccine.’ How do you know? You don’t know. Yes, the vaccine ended my season. One thousand percent.”
Goodwin also revealed that the Hawks did not want him to talk publicly about the side effect of the vaccine that he is feeling to this day. “I don’t know where I’m playing at this year. I’m not going to lie to y’all, I don’t know. [The Hawks] just like, ‘Don’t say anything about it, don’t tell nobody. I’m like, ‘Bruh, what?’”
Despite this, he expressed nothing good positive feelings towards his former team. According to the player, he had to turn down offers from the Celtics and the Warriors earlier due to his condition.
Last year was Goodwin’s third season in the NBA. He played 47 games averaging 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game. It was his second year with the Hawks.
